Terms of Service
These terms are the ground rules for using our website and app. They are written to be understandable—no tricks, no fine print designed to confuse you.
Last updated:
Agreement
By using atoznutritionist.com, subscribing to our newsletter, or creating an account in the A To Z Nutritionist mobile app (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes means you accept the updated version.
The short version
- A To Z Nutritionist provides nutrition education, meal planning tools, and coaching support—it is not a doctor's office or an emergency service.
- You are responsible for your account, the accuracy of what you tell us, and how you use recommendations in real life.
- AI features and food scans are helpful but imperfect. Treat them as guidance, not gospel.
- Be respectful in chats. Do not abuse the platform, scrape our content, or misuse other people's information.
- We can change, pause, or discontinue features. You can leave anytime by deactivating or deleting your account.
What we provide
A To Z Nutritionist (“we,” “us,” or “our”) offers a nutrition coaching platform that may include personalized meal plans, a food and calorie log, photo and barcode scanning, educational content, AI-assisted chats, and access to registered dietitians and staff for support.
Features vary over time. Some capabilities are labeled as coming soon or may be limited during early releases. We do not guarantee that every feature will be available on every device or in every region.
Not medical care
Our service is for general wellness and nutrition education. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, prescription, or emergency services.
- Do not use the App for medical emergencies. Call emergency services (such as 911 in the U.S.) if you need urgent help.
- Information in the App—including from AI, scans, meal plans, or staff—does not replace advice from your physician or other qualified healthcare provider.
- Do not delay or disregard professional medical advice because of something you read or receive through our service.
- If you have a serious allergy, condition, or dietary restriction, verify ingredients and suitability yourself before eating anything.
Who can use the service
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you should use the App with a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.
You represent that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge, especially health-related details like allergies and restrictions. Wrong or incomplete information can lead to unsuitable recommendations.
Your account
- Keep your login credentials private. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend accounts to protect you or the platform.
- One person per account unless we explicitly offer a household or team plan. Do not share accounts in ways that violate these terms.
- You may deactivate or permanently delete your account from App settings, or request deletion without the app at atoznutritionist.com/delete-account. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent
- Harass, threaten, or abuse staff, experts, or other users in chat or support channels
- Upload content you do not have the right to share, or that is obscene, infringing, or malicious
- Attempt to break, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or bypass security or rate limits
- Use automated tools to access the service without our written permission
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service without authorization
We may remove content, restrict features, or terminate accounts that violate these rules or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to others or to the platform.
AI, scans, and estimates
Parts of the App use artificial intelligence and automated analysis—for example, reading food photos, suggesting nutrition information, drafting plan content, or answering questions in condition chats.
- AI can be wrong. It may misread labels, underestimate allergens, or suggest foods that do not fit your situation.
- Nutrition values from scans, databases, and estimates are approximations—not laboratory analysis.
- AI responses follow guidance written by our dietitian team, but they are still automated and should be reviewed with common sense.
- You can request a human expert in eligible chats; availability is not guaranteed 24/7.
You use AI and scan features at your own discretion. When in doubt, check the package, ask your clinician, or contact our team.
Dietitians and human support
Registered dietitians and nutrition professionals help shape our content, plans, and guidance rails. When you chat with our team or request expert review, you are receiving coaching and education—not entering a formal clinician–patient relationship through the App unless we tell you otherwise in writing for a specific program.
Response times vary. Expert review, plan adjustments, and chat replies depend on staff availability. We strive to be helpful but do not promise instant or unlimited access.
Your content and our content
What you submit
You keep ownership of photos, messages, and other content you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content as needed to operate the service—for example, storing a scan photo, analyzing it for nutrition data, or showing your chat history back to you and our support team.
That license ends when your content is deleted, subject to reasonable backup and legal retention periods described in our Privacy Policy.
What we own
The App, website, branding, meal plan frameworks, blog articles, software, and other materials we provide are owned by us or our licensors. You may use them for personal, non-commercial use through the service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without permission.
Changes, availability, and beta features
We may add, change, or remove features; perform maintenance; or experience outages. We will try to communicate significant changes when practical, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
Some features may be offered in preview or beta. They may be less reliable and can change or be withdrawn without notice.
Fees and subscriptions
Parts of the service may be free today. If we introduce paid plans or in-app purchases, we will present pricing and billing terms before you are charged. Unless stated otherwise at purchase, fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
App store purchases are also subject to the payment and refund policies of Apple, Google, or whichever platform processed the transaction.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if we must comply with law, if your account poses a security risk, or if we discontinue the service.
Sections that by their nature should survive—such as disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms—remain in effect after your account ends.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that meal plans, scans, calorie counts, AI responses, or any other output will be accurate, complete, safe for your specific health needs, or free of errors.
Limitation of liability
Nutrition choices are yours. We are not liable for decisions you make based on the service, including illness, allergic reactions, or other outcomes from foods you choose to eat or avoid.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, A To Z Nutritionist and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.
Where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by law.
If you cause us harm
If your misuse of the service—or your violation of these terms—causes us to face claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees), you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless to the extent permitted by law. This is standard protection so one user's bad behavior does not unfairly land on everyone else.
Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your home country or state apply.
Before filing a formal claim, please email us and give us a reasonable chance to resolve the issue informally. Most problems can be worked out with a conversation.
Except where prohibited by law, you agree that disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
General
- Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the full agreement between you and us regarding the service.
- Severability. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a term once, that does not mean we waive it forever.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your account or these terms without our consent. We may assign our rights as part of a merger or sale of the business.
